Do you train kickboxing at home and want to keep training during your trip to Tokyo?
For many female kickboxers, training is more than just a workout. It may be part of your weekly routine, a hobby you love, or preparation for sparring and competition.
A holiday or business trip does not necessarily mean you have to stop.
International female kickboxers visiting Tokyo can train at LEFTY GYM in Shinjuku through our International Visitor Program.
Whether you want to hit the heavy bag, maintain your conditioning, or receive private technical coaching, training can be selected according to your experience and goals.

Already Train Kickboxing? You Don’t Need a Beginner Experience
Many activities for tourists are designed around trying something for the first time.
But what if you already train every week?
You may not be looking for an introduction to basic punches and kicks.
You may simply want to:
- Continue your normal training routine
- Hit the heavy bag
- Practice combinations
- Work on footwork
- Maintain your fitness while traveling
- Receive technical feedback
- Experience training at a Japanese kickboxing gym
LEFTY GYM offers different options for international visitors, so experienced practitioners can choose training that is more appropriate for their level.

Drop-In Kickboxing Training for Female Travelers in Tokyo
If your main goal is simply to keep moving during your trip, the FREE & CLASS option may be suitable.
Depending on your experience and the available schedule, you may be able to work on areas such as shadowboxing, footwork, heavy bag training, conditioning, or participate in an available class.
This can be useful if you are in Tokyo for only a few days and do not want a long break from your normal training routine.
Tell us about your previous experience before visiting so we can help you choose an appropriate training option.

Private Technical Coaching for Experienced Female Kickboxers
If you want to use your time in Japan to improve rather than simply maintain your fitness, private technical training is another option.
LEFTY GYM’s PRO TECHNICAL TRAINING provides one-on-one coaching with active professional kickboxers.
The session can be adjusted to your level and what you want to improve.
Possible areas of focus include:
- Stance and balance
- Punching and kicking technique
- Combination development
- Footwork
- Distance management
- Defense
- Technical pad work
- Sparring preparation
- Fight strategy
You can tell your trainer what you currently struggle with or what you are working on at your home gym.
This allows the session to focus on your own kickboxing rather than following the same routine as everyone else.
You Don’t Have to Be a Competitive Fighter
“Experienced” does not mean that you must be a professional or competitive fighter.
You may have trained recreationally for several months or years and simply want a session that starts from your current level.
If you practice kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing, karate, or another striking martial art, tell us about your background when you contact us.
For visitors who compete, you can also tell the trainer about your ruleset, current training goals, and areas you would like to improve.
The important point is that your previous experience is taken into account.

Training Alone as a Female Traveler in Tokyo
Traveling alone can make visiting an unfamiliar gym feel more difficult, especially when you are in another country.
LEFTY GYM accepts international visitors training on their own.
The gym has separate changing rooms for men and women, lockers, and shower facilities.
Rental equipment is also available, so you do not necessarily have to use valuable luggage space to bring all of your training gear to Japan.
If you prefer your own gloves or equipment, you are welcome to bring them.
Train in Shinjuku Without Changing Your Whole Travel Schedule
When traveling, location matters.
You probably do not want to spend half a day traveling across Tokyo just to get one training session.
LEFTY GYM is located approximately 30 seconds from Shinjuku-gyoemmae Station Exit 2, about 6 minutes from Shinjuku-sanchome Station, and around 11 minutes from Shinjuku Station’s East Exit.
This makes it easier to fit a kickboxing session around sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, or other plans in central Tokyo.
You can train and then continue enjoying your day in Shinjuku and the surrounding areas.

What Should You Tell Us Before Booking?
When contacting LEFTY GYM, giving us a little information about your background will help us understand what type of training you are looking for.
For example, tell us:
- Your kickboxing or martial arts experience
- How long you have trained
- Whether you train recreationally or compete
- What you would like to practice
- Your preferred date
- Whether you prefer independent training or private coaching
If you are unsure which option is best, you do not have to decide everything yourself before contacting us.
Tell us what you want from the session and we can discuss the available options.
